Blush is one of the most important aspects of makeup. The main purpose of blush is to redden (although there are new trends that do not contain any particular red color, we’ll go to that later!) your cheeks area to make it warmer and youth looking. It is often used to make the innocent touch and flush to your cheek. Blush has been used since long time ago, making the ancient Egypt, Greek and Roman use it long way before we do with the dried rose petals and natural source such as fruits extract and many more.
Blush is used to emphasize the cheekbones as well but there are a lot of trends to brush it over to the tip of the nose to make the “puppy look” and making it more into the fragile-looking-little-girl-look.
As Miss Taylor Swift says “Red lips and rosy cheeks” on her Wildest Dreams, that’s the classic look you can always choose for your daily makeup look. BUT! There are still a lot of colors to choose from for the makeup look you are going for or simply to match your skin tone.
1. Pale Pink or Baby Pink
The color that suits cool tone skin colors the most! Baby pink or pale pink can live up to the game, making it natural blushed color for the people with cool tone skin color. This color makes you look younger looking and more feminine with the subtle pinkish natural blush.
2. Orange Coral
A great color for your summer looks with a tint of orangey that will totally live up your complexion. This color suits people with warm skin tone to make it livelier as it can sometimes look dull on cool tone skin. This color can wake your face up and make people energized just by looking at you.
3. Mauve
Mauve color looks good for people that want to go to the edgy-road. Mauve color definitely looks edgy and stylish. Other blush color can make you look simply livelier while this one gives you that supermodel blush. The muted color often with grey undertones makes your cheek to flush beautifully.
4. Peach
You can never go wrong with peach. This color goes along with any skin tone possible! This color is universally accepted with any skin tone, fair, medium and dark. On fair skin, it looks orangey pinkish, on medium skin it looks healthy glow while on dark skin, it looks poppin’ on your cheek.
5. Plum
Plum is the color combination of dark purple and muted pink. This color is a tad bit darker than the mauve color and often look identical but if you look closer, the plum color is definitely have more dark purplish tone under it. Plum color looks the best on fall season with that golden autumn ambience that give you the most elegant flushed possible.
6. Brick
Brick is the combination of red and orangey color. Although this color might seem overwhelming to a lot of people, this color definitely looks beautiful if you build it just enough. This brick color looks particularly great on dark skin color. On dark skin, it looks warm and enough to make it look like a natural flush. The terracotta color brings out the charm out of people.
7. Yellow
When you want to go super extra for the day, you can definitely use yellow colored blush to step up the game! You might think it is super unusual to use yellow, especially if you want to go for the natural flushed look, but some days, you just want to go “Screw it!” yeah? Don’t be taken aback as this yellow blush is the new trend in the blush world. Yellow is the poppest out of pop color in the blush color scheme. However, don’t make it too overboard as this color is kind of hard to rock especially if you are still a rookie on the makeup game. Make the blush subtle on your cheekbones to give a hint of pop and fresh look on spring.
